Prohibit 'Make Available Offline' for these file and folders

Requirements: At least Microsoft Windows XP Professional or Windows Server 2003 family

Description:
Prohibits specific network files and folders from being made available for offline use.

To prohibit the "Make Available Offline" option for specific files or folders, enable this setting, click Show, and then click Add. In the "Type the name of the item to be added" box, type the fully qualified UNC path to the file or folder. Leave the "Enter the value of the item to be added" field blank.

Note

• This setting appears in the Computer Configuration and User Configuration folders. If both settings are configured, the settings are combined, and all specified files will not be available for offline use.

Note

• This setting does not prevent files from being automatically cached if the network share is configured for "Automatic Caching". It only affects the availability of the "Make Available Offline" menu option in the user interface.

• If the "Disable Make Available Offline" setting is enabled, this setting has no effect.
